Last Update: September 2023

The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) is your professional and protective organization. Together, we represent over 83,000 teachers, occasional teachers, designated early childhood educators (DECEs) and education workers employed in the public elementary schools of Ontario.

Welcome to ETFO is a resource for all new members who have recently joined ETFO.

ETFO is the largest educator union in Canada, and advocates for its members, negotiates collective agreements at all levels, and provides services including professional development and support for members with questions about their workplaces.

Members work together and with other like-minded organizations to protect the right of all Ontarians to public education. ETFO also works to support the rights of all Ontarians on the intersecting issues that affect education in our province. Every Ontarian must have decent work, fair wages, equality, housing, and dignity.

To receive Provincial ETFO collective bargaining bulletins, newsletters, invitations to telephone town hall meetings, central benefits updates, and other important information, make sure your contact information is up to date by filling out the member information form

ETFO also has a members-only section, which you can register for here: https://members.etfo.ca/login

You are represented by ETFO provincially and you are also a member of one of the 76 ETFO locals across the province. The Bluewater Occasional Teachers' Local is one of the 76 ETFO locals. We are represented by approximately 450 members who are employed as daily (STO) and/or long-term occasional teachers (LTO) with the Bluewater District School Board, located in Grey and Bruce Counties, Ontario, Canada.
